This document summarizes the key features and specifications of the HIMA Assembly Kit B 5233-1/-2, a pre-configured hardware platform for the HIQuad H41/H51 Programmable Electronic System (PES). This system is designed for high-availability safety applications and is TÜV-certified for use in systems up to requirement class 6.
The B 5233 assembly kit provides the central control hardware for a HIQuad safety system. It is delivered in a 19-inch, 5U central rack (K 1412A) and is available in two variants:
B 5233-1 (for H51q-HS Systems): A high-availability system featuring a single I/O bus structure.
B 5233-2 (for H51q-HRS Systems): A high-availability, redundant system featuring a dual (redundant) I/O bus structure for enhanced fault tolerance.
The system is designed to operate with the HIMA operating system BS41q/51q, version 7.0-7 or higher.
The B 5233 kit contains the essential modules for the central processing unit:
Central Rack (K 1412A): A 19-inch, 5U rack that houses all central modules and includes an integrated cable tray.
Redundant Power Supplies (3x F 7126): Three 24V DC to 5V DC (10 A each) power supply modules configured in parallel. This n+1 redundancy ensures continuous operation even if one power supply module fails, provided the total 5V current draw does not exceed 18 A.
Power Supply Monitoring (1x F 7131): A dedicated module to monitor the status of the power supplies.
Redundant Central Modules (2x F 8650): Two central modules (CU1 and CU2) form the redundant processing core of the safety system.
Bus Termination Modules (F 7546): The kit includes two terminators for the single-bus B 5233-1 system and four for the dual-bus B 5233-2 system.
System Monitoring Hardware: Includes modules for decoupling and fusing power feeds (Z 6011), a fan module with run and fuse monitoring (Z 6012), and fusing for the watchdog signal (Z 6013).
The system's functionality can be expanded with optional modules that must be ordered separately:
Coprocessor Modules (up to 6x F 8621A): Used to handle communication tasks, offloading the central modules.
Communication Modules:
Ethernet (up to 10x F 8625): For Ethernet-based communication.
Profibus-DP (up to 10x F 8626): For integration into Profibus-DP networks.
The datasheet provides detailed wiring diagrams. Key user responsibilities include:
Connecting the 24V DC Supply: Providing the main power to the system via terminals XG.21, XG.22, and XG.23.
Wiring the I/O Racks: Connecting the 5V DC and 24V DC outputs from the central rack to the separate I/O racks (e.g., B 9302).
Connecting the Watchdog (WD) Signal: Wiring the watchdog signals from the central modules to the I/O bus(es) to monitor system health.
Monitoring Loop: Connecting the floating contact for external signaling of fuse or fan failures.
The HIMA Assembly Kit B 5233-1/-2 is a robust, pre-configured, and TÜV-certified hardware foundation for building high-availability HIQuad safety systems. Its redundant architecture for both power and control, combined with extensive monitoring and expandability options, makes it suitable for critical safety applications requiring high levels of reliability and
