It is a part of General Electric Mark VIe control system. The board is most commonly associated with the Mark VIe series, but it can also be associated with the Innovation Series. When used with the Innovation Series, the board will be installed in the Load or Control Cabinet. It performs the function of a static charge control board. When operating any type of electronic system, static charge control and damping are critical considerations. Static electricity buildup can harm electronics and, in extreme cases, can cause explosions or fires. Furthermore, static electricity can be hazardous to technicians working on components. The Mark VIe control was created to serve a wide range of control and protection applications, including steam and gas turbines, as well as power generation balance of plant (BOP) equipment. The control provides more redundancy options, improved maintainability, and increased capability for locating I/O closer to the controlled equipment. FEATURES There are no potentiometers or LED indicators on this board. The sub-D pin connector on the left side of the board has four pins, while the connector on the right side of the board has three pins. Two blue variable resistors in the bottom right corner of the board operate at a voltage of 250. The SCTL board can operate at three different redundancy levels: single, dual, and triple. When using the board with dual redundant systems, redundant and single input packs with dual IONets will be used to transmit these inputs to the Mark VIe controllers. This board was designed as a printed circuit board (PCB) with no potentiometers on the surface. The card includes two sets of sub-D pin connectors, one with three pins and the other with four pins. The fuse for this component has a rating of 120 VDC and is mounted in the load cabinet LS2100 STATIC STARTER The LS2100 static starter system uses the generator as a starting motor to start a gas turbine. An integrated static start system is made up of the LS2100 control, the Mark VIe control, and the EX2100 excitation control. The run, torque, and speed setpoint signals are supplied by the Mark VIe control to the LS2100 control, which operates in closed loop control mode to supply variable frequency power to the generator stator.
