The dedicated slot for the power supply is designed with a unique size to ensure that only the power supply can be installed in this position. This helps prevent incorrect component installation and ensures the system receives the necessary power. The first slot of the baseplate is designated for the CPU module and is labeled CPU/1. Each system can only have one CPU baseplate. If additional baseplates are needed, they must be either Remote or Expansion baseplates. Slots numbered 2 and above have unique sizes and are used to connect either option modules or I/O modules. This design ensures flexibility and scalability, allowing the system to be customized with various modules as needed. For systems using remote baseplates, the required cable length should be less than 700 feet. For expansion and CPU baseplates, the cable length should be less than 50 feet. These specifications help ensure signal integrity and reliable communication between baseplates. Both remote and expansion baseplates are associated with DIP switches. These switches are used to configure the baseplates, ensuring proper communication and functionality within the system. Connectivity The IC693CHS391 is equipped with a 25-pin female connector located on the right end of the baseplate. This connector is used to link the expansion plate to either a remote or expansion baseplate, facilitating seamless system expansion. Remote and expansion baseplates must be connected to the system with a CPU. The number of these baseplates supported by a system depends on the type of CPU used: A maximum of four baseplates can be supported by CPUs 341, 340, and 331. A maximum of seven baseplates can be supported by CPU 350. Installation and Usage Users must ensure it is correctly connected to the CPU in the first slot of its baseplate.
