The Woodward 8262-1142 and 8262-1143 are high-availability control kits within the 5009XT series. 

These systems leverage the MicroNet TMR® (Triple Modular Redundant) hardware architecture to provide fault-tolerant control for critical steam turbines.

 By utilizing "2-out-of-3" voting logic, these controllers ensure that a single point of failure in hardware, power, or sensors does not lead to a turbine trip, maintaining the highest possible operational uptime.

The primary difference between these two models is their input power specification:

8262-1142: Powered by Dual 220 V AC supplies.

8262-1143: Powered by Dual 24 V DC supplies.

The Woodward 8262-1142 and 8262-1143 are the "invincible" governors of the industrial world. They represent a move from simple redundancy to Fault Tolerance.

 While a standard controller is a single point of failure, the 5009XT kits act like three independent pilots constantly checking each other's work.

 If one pilot makes an error or falls ill (hardware failure), the other two stay in control of the turbine. 

This "majority rules" safety net is the industry standard for turbines where a shutdown means millions in lost revenue or hazardous plant conditions.

Installation and Maintenance

Firmware Updates: Use Woodward AppManager to synchronize the software version across all three CPUs (A, B, and C) to ensure consistent voting logic.
