Installation and Maintenance

Installation Guidelines

DIN Rail Mounting: Position the CX1001-0111 on a standard 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715). Press firmly downward until the locking mechanism latches securely to the rail profile.

System Block Alignment: Slide the CPU module laterally along the rail to interface directly with adjacent CX components (such as the CX1100 power supply or CX1000-COOL auxiliary blocks). Ensure the internal PC104 male/female pins mate cleanly before locking down side latches.

Environmental Clearances: Maintain a minimum vertical ventilation gap of 30 mm above and below the module assembly to support natural convection airflow.

Maintenance and Flash Storage Handling

CompactFlash Card Replacement: Always isolate the main power source before inserting or removing the CompactFlash card. Swapping storage cards while the CPU is powered can lead to permanent OS corruption or sector damage.

Battery Maintenance: If the real-time clock (RTC) data begins to drift, replace the internal lithium backup battery located behind the front access panel. This can be serviced with the system powered down without losing your core TwinCAT runtime programs.
