The Nidec Mentor MP155A4 and MP155A4R are high-capacity, digital DC drives designed to provide robust and intelligent control for large industrial motors.

These drives are the modern successors to the industry-standard Mentor II, offering a seamless transition to current automation standards while maintaining the heavy-duty reliability required for demanding applications.

Models available for two or four quadrant (regenerative) operation

25A to 7400A, 24V - 480V / 500V - 575V / 500V - 690V

Product Introduction

The MP155A4 is a 2-quadrant (non-regenerative) drive, ideal for high-torque unidirectional tasks.

Its counterpart, the MP155A4R, is a 4-quadrant (regenerative) drive capable of full motoring and braking in both directions, making it essential for applications involving overhauling loads or rapid deceleration.

Built on the Control Techniques platform, these 155A drives combine power density with the same sophisticated software environment used in modern AC drive technology.

The MP155A4 series acts as the "Brain of the DC Motor." Unlike basic controllers, it uses a 32-bit microprocessor with a 35μs current sampling rate, providing nearly instantaneous torque response.

Its "SmartCard" system allows field technicians to transfer entire drive configurations in seconds without a laptop, making it one of the most user-friendly high-power drives on the market.
