Installation Method

Unlike cabinet-based switches, the OS20 features an integrated flat mounting flange.

1.Position and Screw Mount:Direct mounting。

Align the switch's integrated mounting flanges on a flat, rigid surface. Secure using four heavy-duty M6 screws to ensure high vibration resistance.

2.Establish Functional Grounding:EMC protection。

Connect a low-impedance ground strap from the designated grounding terminal on the switch housing directly to the machine's central ground point.

3.Wire M12 Power Inputs:Redundant 5-pin power。

Connect the dual DC power feeds to the 5-pin, A-coded M12 power plug. Screw the connector securely onto the switch interface to seal it.

4.Connect M12 D-Coded Ethernet Cables:Network connections。

Align and thread the 4-pin, D-coded M12 Ethernet patch cables into the ports. Ensure they are tightened completely to maintain the IP67 seal.

Operating Instructions

First-Time Configuration

Default IP Address: The switch is set to receive an IP via DHCP by default. If no DHCP server is present, configure a temporary static IP using the Hirschmann HiDiscovery software tool over the network.

Accessing the GUI: Enter the switch's IP address into a secure web browser (HTTPS). Log in using the default credentials found on the product's physical side-label.

Change Default Credentials: Upon initial login, you will be prompted to change the default admin password to secure the switch.
