Hirschmann RS30-2402T1T1SDAUHC Managed Industrial Switch
Hirschmann RS30-2402T1T1SDAUHC Managed Industrial Switch
The Hirschmann RS30-2402T1T1SDAUHC (Belden Part Number: 943 434-058) is a high-density, 26-port managed Industrial Ethernet switch engineered for high-capacity backbone aggregation. This modular-style OpenRail switch bridges critical machine-level networks with higher-tier control systems.
Product Introduction / Overview
In complex plant floor automation layouts, localized sub-rings and control devices generate significant network traffic. The RS30-2402T1T1SDAUHC serves as a centralized, high-density collection node inside industrial control panels.
With 24 Fast Ethernet RJ45 copper ports alongside 2 Gigabit Ethernet Combo Ports (which allow either 10/100/1000Base-T copper or SFP optical transceiver modules), this switch handles high data volumes while maintaining strong redundancy. Running Classic Software with Layer 2 Professional (P) features and holding global marine, hazard, and industrial certifications, it delivers enterprise-grade IT network management down to the DIN rail.

Product Features / Core Advantages
Hybrid High-Density Design: Packaged with 24 dedicated downstream machine-level ports and 2 Gigabit combo uplinks to prevent backplane bottlenecking when feeding central SCADA systems.
Premium Hardened Security: Packed with advanced software defenses, including IEEE 802.1X network access control, MAC-based port security, IP/MAC-specific access control lists (ACLs), and HTTPS/SSH configuration encryption.
Rapid Fault Healing: Uses integrated MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol) and HIPER-Ring algorithms to guarantee complete path recovery in under 20 ms over ring-topology optical fibers or copper cables.
Granular Traffic Control: Supports advanced Layer 2 management features like IGMP Snooping/Querier (for multicast filtering), VLAN tagging (IEEE 802.1Q), and Quality of Service (QoS) priorities to prevent slow PLC polling cycles.

Mounting onto DIN Rail: Position the top groove of the rear metal mounting attachment onto the upper lip of a standard 35 mm DIN rail (EN 50022).
Locking Securely: Forcefully press the bottom-front surface of the switch toward the DIN rail until the spring-loaded metal locking slide snaps into position on the bottom rail edge.
PE Chassis Grounding: Run a dedicated grounding lead from the chassis PE screw on the lower face to the main cabinet ground bar to prevent static build-up and shield the electronics from power surges.
Operating Instructions
1. Hardware Connections
Copper Connections: Plug standard Category 5e (or better) RJ45 cables into the 24 downstream ports. Note that auto-MDI/MDI-X automatically handles crossover requirements.
Gigabit Uplinks (SFP): If optical connections are preferred, insert a compatible Hirschmann M-FAST SFP or M-SFP transceiver into the combo SFP slots. Connecting a cable to the SFP slot automatically disables the adjacent copper RJ45 combo port.
2. Accessing the Configuration Interface
Initial IP Assignment: By default, the switch relies on DHCP or BOOTP. To set a static IP, connect to the RJ45 serial port using a standard terminal emulator, or use the Hirschmann HiDiscovery software tool to locate the device by its MAC address over the network.
Web-Based Management (GUI): Open a standard browser, type the assigned IP address, and log in. The default login profile is user admin with the password private (this password must be updated on your first login to comply with security guidelines).
