The Applied Materials (AMAT) 0190-17081 is a high-performance Single Board Computer (SBC) designed for the 2U/3U CompactPCI (cPCI) architecture.

Manufactured for AMAT by industrial computing leaders like Adlink or Kontron, this module serves as the primary system controller for 300mm semiconductor tools.

It manages the high-level execution of process recipes and coordinates communication between the user interface and the chamber-level hardware.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation: Slide the SBC into the "System" slot (usually Slot 1) of the cPCI backplane. Use the injector handles to lock the high-density pins into place. Secure the front panel with screws to maintain the EMI shield.

BIOS Configuration: Note that AMAT-specific BIOS settings are required for the tool software to boot. Ensure the boot priority is set correctly for the tool’s primary hard drive or network boot server.

CMOS Battery: Replace the CR2032 lithium battery every 3 years. A dead battery can cause "CMOS Checksum Error" and prevent the tool from initializing.

Thermal Paste: During refurbishment or long-term maintenance, ensure the thermal interface material between the CPU and the 2U-height heatsink is fresh to prevent thermal throttling.
