 Developed in collaboration with SST (a subsidiary of Molex/Woodhead), this module functions as a 4-Channel DeviceNet Scanner. 

It is primarily utilized in the CompactPCI (cPCI) backplanes of AMAT's 300mm wafer processing platforms, acting as the primary gateway between the system's central computer and its distributed peripherals.

Installation and Maintenance
Installation:

Bus Alignment: The 3U cPCI connector is extremely dense; ensure the card is perfectly vertical before sliding it into the rack to avoid bending pins.

Firmware Match: Ensure the card's firmware version (e.g., V1.3.4) matches the tool's software revision, as mismatching can lead to "Bus Scanner Failures."

Connector Security: Use the front-panel thumb screws to secure the card. These screws also serve as a ground path for EMI shielding.

Maintenance:

Cable Strain Relief: DeviceNet cables can be heavy; ensure the 5-pin connectors are supported to prevent "sagging," which leads to intermittent communication drops.

LED Diagnostics: Monitor the onboard LEDs; a flashing green light usually indicates a "Ready" state, while solid red indicates a "Bus-Off" or duplicate MAC ID error.

Termination Check: Periodically verify that the 120-ohm terminating resistors at the end of each physical network cable are secure and functioning.
