The Woodward 8200-1311 is a specialized digital governor from the 505XT series, designed for the comprehensive control and protection of industrial steam turbines.

As the high-voltage counterpart to the 8200-1310. this model is engineered for single-valve, single-extraction, or admission turbine applications.

It serves as the modern, high-performance successor to the legacy Woodward 505E, offering a superior graphical interface and advanced "OptiTune" adaptive PID technology.

Unique Product Description

The Woodward 8200-1311 functions as a "Single-Box" solution for complex turbine logic.

While standard governors only manage speed, the 8200-1311 manages the entire thermodynamic cycle of an extraction turbine.

It acts as a bridge between the physical turbine and the digital plant, translating complex steam physics into a user-friendly graphical interface.

Its unique ability to provide bumpless transfer between control modes (e.g., from speed control to pressure control) ensures that your process remains uninterrupted even during sensor failures.

Combined Heat and Power (CHP): Managing turbines that provide both electrical power and process steam for district heating or industrial use.

Paper and Pulp Mills: Precise control of extraction steam used in drying rollers while maintaining stable generator frequency.

Installation and Maintenance

Mounting: Flush-mount design for control panels. It is recommended to leave at least 4 inches of clearance behind the unit for wiring and cooling.

Wiring: Use un-pluggable terminal blocks (included) for easy replacement. High-voltage power lines must be separated from low-level signal cables to prevent noise.

I/O Expansion: If 8 analog inputs are insufficient, the 8200-1311 can be expanded via LinkNet-HT modules through the CANOpen ports.

Firmware Updates: Settings can be backed up or updated using Woodward’s RemoteView or AppManager software via the Ethernet ports.
