Beckhoff CX5130-0141 (configured with 4GB of RAM) is a high-performance, DIN-rail mountable Embedded PC engineered to bring mid-to-high tier computing capabilities directly to compact control cabinets.

Powered by an efficient Intel Atom® E3827 dual-core processor, this hardware platform is designed to seamlessly manage complex PLC, motion control, and sophisticated HMI visualization tasks within a single, unified device.

The CX5130-0141 is a completely fanless and solid-state unit, making it exceptionally reliable under harsh factory conditions.

Its modular architecture allows for direct hardware extension: users can snap Beckhoff I/O terminals (either standard Bus Terminals or high-speed EtherCAT Terminals) directly onto the right side of the unit.

This creates a highly integrated, space-saving control hub that communicates natively with field devices over ultra-low-latency EtherCAT networks.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation Procedures

DIN-Rail Mounting: Clip the CX5130-0141 securely onto a standard 35mm DIN rail (EN 60715). Ensure the locking latch clicks firmly into place.

I/O Module Extension: Before powering the system, slide the desired Beckhoff Bus or EtherCAT Terminals onto the right-hand side interface, aligning the internal data contacts.

Power Wiring: Wire the 24V DC supply lines to the integrated power terminal block. Connect a clean, dedicated grounding wire directly from the terminal block to the backplane ground rail.

Preventative Maintenance Guidelines

⚠️ Warning: Never insert or remove CFast storage cards or attach/detach adjacent I/O modules while the 24V DC power supply is active. Doing so can cause file corruption or hardware damage.

Airflow Optimization: Ensure a minimum clearance of 30mm above and below the device inside the enclosure to allow natural convection currents to flow freely through the chassis vents.

Firmware & Diagnostics: Use the built-in TwinCAT System Manager tool to regularly check CPU temperatures and verify the remaining write-endurance lifetime of the active CFast card.
