Shinkawa EFU-10 (EFU10) Spark Generator Unit
Shinkawa EFU-10 (EFU10) Spark Generator Unit is a specialized high-voltage electric discharge control supply engineered by Shinkawa Electric.
Designed primarily for automated semiconductor bonding equipment, fine wire processing, and precision spark-forming operations, the EFU-10 operates on a standard AC 100V (1A) supply.
It delivers controlled, high-precision electric discharge arcs required for Electronic Flame Off (EFO) processes, ensuring uniform ball formation on ultra-fine bonding wires during high-speed microelectronic packaging.
Product Advantages and Features
Precision Discharge Control: Generates repeatable, micro-second electric discharge pulses to form precise, consistent free-air balls (FAB) on gold, copper, or aluminum wire tips.
Stable Power Efficiency: Designed for AC 100V input with low current draw (1A), minimizing internal thermal load and maintaining output voltage stability across continuous production cycles.
Integrated Hardware Safety: Built-in over-current fuse protection (F1 1A) and dedicated frame grounding terminals (FG1) protect sensitive upstream automation controllers from electrical noise backfeed.

Compact Industrial Enclosure: Enclosed in a rugged metal housing built for seamless mounting inside automated IC wire bonders and micro-welding stations.
Dedicated Signal I/O Interface: Features standard multi-pin signal connectors (TORCH SIG / I/O) to interface directly with main PLC control boards and triggering logic.

Installation and Maintenance
Power Connection: Connect a regulated AC 100V power input line to the rear IEC power inlet. Verify that the inline fuse rating matches the factory-specified 1A threshold before energizing.
Grounding Safety: Fasten a heavy-gauge grounding wire securely to the dedicated ground terminal (FG1) on the chassis to suppress high-frequency discharge noise and prevent static build-up.
Torch Signal Wiring: Connect the EFO torch/discharge electrode signal cable to the TORCH SIG interface port.
Ensure all connector locking screws are tightened down against machine vibration.
Fuse Inspection & Maintenance: Keep spare 1A slow-blow fuses on hand. If the power LED fails to illuminate upon startup, isolate main AC power and inspect the rear panel fuse holder.
Environmental Cleaning: Keep top and bottom panel ventilation slots clear of dust and metallic residue using clean, dry compressed air during scheduled equipment servicing turnarounds.
