The MOTOROLA VME172PA-652SE is a high-performance single-board computer (SBC) from the MVME172P2 series, designed for the VMEbus architecture. 

This module leverages the superscalar performance of the MC68060 microprocessor, providing a significant performance leap for legacy embedded systems while maintaining object code compatibility with earlier 68K-based controllers. Featuring two IndustryPack (IP) slots,

 the VME172PA-652SE offers exceptional modularity, allowing engineers to customize I/O and functional capabilities for mission-critical industrial and defense applications.

users to achieve the price-performance value of RISC architectures while maintaining MC68060 object code compatibility.

By combining the MC68060 superscalar performance with a wide range of optional features and the IndustryPack interface, 

OEMs can select the exact product for their application rather than paying for unwanted features.

The inclusion of the new "Petra" application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC),

which replaces functions formerly implemented in the IP2 chip, MC2 chip,

and MCECC chip, improves the performance of the memory subsystem.

Memory configuration switches enable the user to tailor memory size for applications requiring smaller memory configurations
