Overview

Innovative upgrade path to avoid obsolescence

The PMC523 provides a flexible solution for technology insertion by integrating multiple serial I/O channels onto a single board computer (SBC) with a PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) site. This gives customers affordable protection from obsolescence and a smart evolutionary path to enhanced software ultimately improves performance and increases efficiency.

Increase in overall performance and minimal integration time

By utilizing dual octal UARTs, the PMC523 increases overall performance by reducing programmed I/O operations and minimizing the time required to integrate the PMCs into existing software environments.

Individually programmable line drivers

Each of the 16 ports has an individually programmable line driver to set either RS-232 or RS-422 signaling types. Baud rates are separately programmed as well, from 150 bits/s to 6.2 Mb/s.

Automatic flow control

The PMC523 automatically routes the RTS/CTS and DTR/DSR signals to the I/O ports so communication is smooth and uninterrupted no matter the hardware being used.
