Operating Instructions

Physical Mounting:

Snap the device onto a top-hat 35 mm DIN rail in a standard control cabinet. Ensure at least 10 cm clearance above and below for natural convection cooling.

Power Wiring:

Connect redundant power feeds to Terminal Block $V_1 (+/-)$ and Terminal Block $V_2 (+/-)$ using appropriate gauge wiring. Connect the functional ground cable to the earthing screw.

Network Connections:

Insert SFP transceivers into combo slots for optical fiber links or plug Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cables into RJ45 ports.

Initial Configuration:

Connect via the RJ45/USB serial console port or use Hirschmann HiDiscovery software to locate the switch's default IP address on the local subnet.

 Log into the HiOS web interface using default credentials to set up VLANs and redundancy protocols.
