Installation and Maintenance

Step-by-Step Installation

Electrostatic Safety: Put on an ESD anti-static wrist strap connected to an earth ground point prior to unpacking the board.

Backplane Slot Inspection: Inspect the target 6U CompactPCI slot in the subrack to ensure pin alignment is clear of debris or bent pins.

Slot Alignment: Slide the top and bottom edges of the cPCI-6700B into the card guide rails of the rack chassis.

Connector Engagement: Carefully push the card in until the rear J1/J2 multi-pin connectors press lightly against the backplane.

Locking: Simultaneously depress the top and bottom red-tab injector/ejector handles to securely seat the high-density connectors into the backplane receptacles.

Screw Securing: Fasten the two front-panel captive mounting screws using a Phillips screwdriver to prevent looseness caused by ambient vibration.

Maintenance Recommendations
