Designed for mission-critical industrial automation networks, this media module features 4 Fast Ethernet SFP slots, providing flexible fiber optic or copper network connectivity in demanding environments.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation

ESD Precautions: Wear an grounding wrist strap before handling the media module to prevent electrostatic discharge.

Module Insertion: Align the guide rails of the MM20-Z6Z6SAHH with the open slot on the MS20 or MS30 switch backplane. Slide the module inward until it clicks firmly into the backplane connector.

Fastening: Tighten the captive thumb screws on the front panel to secure the module in place.

SFP Transceiver Insertion: Insert approved Fast Ethernet SFP transceivers (e.g., M-Fast-SFP) into the slots until latched, then connect fiber patch cables.

Maintenance

Hot-Swapping: If a module replacement is needed during operation, unlatch the optic cables, loosen the thumbscrews, and pull out the module. Insert the replacement without shutting down power to the host switch.

Visual Inspection: Monitor LED indicators during routine checks:

Link/Data (Green/Yellow): Solid indicates an active connection; blinking indicates active traffic.

Off: Check SFP seated connection or fiber line integrity.

Cleaning: Dust covers should remain on unpopulated SFP slots to prevent optical contamination. Use standard optical cleaning pens on fiber connectors if signal degradation occurs.
