Time-Domain Power Monitor
The SEL-T35 streams ac and dc voltage and current measurements to SEL Synchrowave software for real-time, wide-area system analysis. The data stream includes 1 Msps and 14.4 ksps waveform data and 1 ksps energy packets.Synchrowave software receives, stores, analyzes, and reports these data for system monitoring and post-event analysis.
A virtual metering application calculates traditional analog quantities, while disturbance detection logic captures transient events, subsynchronous oscillations, and system faults.
The system calculates energy packets every millisecond, providing visibility into energy transfer independent of phase angle, frequency, and signal distortion.
The oscilloscope software records 1 Msps waveform data and exports COMTRADE and CSV formats for further analysis.
The SEL-T35 streams 17 analog quantities and 2 binary input statuses.
An integrated ride-through pack helps maintain data capture during short-duration outages.
Continuous Waveform Recording
The compact SEL-T35 streams data from up to four ac current inputs, four ac voltage inputs, and four dc inputs directly to SEL Synchrowave software for visualization and historian recording.
Triggerless Data Capture
Record waveforms and time-domain energy packets at up to 14.4 ksps without preconfigured triggers. Continuously stream data to capture faults, disturbances, and normal operations and archive up to several years of gapless data.
Flexible Data Acquisition
Low-level milliampere dc analog inputs to measure the output from third-party transducers, including temperature, solar irradiance, and high-energy dc voltage or current.
Seamless Event Ride-Through
The integrated ride-through pack protects the data stream from short-duration outages providing at least seven seconds of continued operation after the power supply input drops out.
Real-Time Data Integration (Coming Soon)
The SEL Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) calculates a wide range of quantities from the SEL‑T35 14.4 ksps data stream for system-level monitoring, automation, and control.
It performs functions including data aggregation; high-speed control using half-cycle magnitude and 1-millisecond energy packet measurements; and digital fault and disturbance recording

As inverter-based resources and large load dynamics—like data centers—connect to the grid, system behavior grows increasingly complex. Sudden step changes can introduce voltage disruptions, frequency deviations, and power oscillations that trigger-based monitoring may miss.
The SEL continuous waveform recording system, powered by Synchrowave software, streams fixed-rate, time-synchronized data from the SEL-T35 Time-Domain Power monitor, sampling at 14.4 kilosamples per second (ksps).
This high-resolution data meets Nyquist criteria for frequency-domain reproduction, eliminating the need for phasor approximations or frequency tracking. The result is high-fidelity measurements with wide bandwidth and precise time alignment.
