FOXBORO P0916AE is A thermal resistance input type DCS card module belonging to the I/A series (corresponding to the FBM203 model).

It is mainly used for the collection and transmission of parameters such as temperature in industrial scenarios, and also has diversified control capabilities.

Signal and Channel: As a platinum/nickel/copper material thermal resistance input module, it is equipped with 8 isolated and independent channels, supporting 2-wire or 3-wire thermal resistance input.

The input range is 0-320 ohms, and the maximum allowable resistance of each wire is 50 ohms. It also supports 0-10V voltage signal input and output, and can output 4-20mA signals.

The analog accuracy reaches ±0.03% of the range, and the accuracy temperature coefficient is ±50ppm/℃.

Electrical and Environmental:

It adopts the K-bus power supply mode, with electrical isolation up to 500Vrms.

The operating temperature range is 0-55℃. It can withstand a vibration of 5-500Hz and 7.5m/s², meeting the G3 grade harsh environment usage requirements in ISA S71.04 standard.

The anti-electromagnetic interference complies with IEC 61800-3 standard.

Structural specifications

The overall structure is book-shaped and compact, weighing approximately 2 kilograms.

It has a protection level of IP20 and needs to be installed in a control cabinet for use. It adopts forced air cooling for heat dissipation, and the fan speed can be automatically adjusted according to the temperature.

Strong signal processing and control capabilities

By leveraging Σ-Δ converter technology to achieve high-precision signal conversion, the physical quantities such as temperature collected by the thermal resistor can be transformed into electrical signals recognizable by the control system.

At the same time, it can perform tasks such as regulation, logical operations, and data processing.

It supports sequential control, accident recall processing, and is also compatible with the HART communication protocol, enabling bidirectional data transmission with intelligent devices.

Reliable communication and protection:

It can bidirectionally transmit real-time data and historical records with desktop computers, servers and other devices through multiple protocols such as Ethernet and TCP/IP.

Moreover, it is equipped with multiple protection mechanisms such as overcurrent, overload, overvoltage and overheating,

which can reduce the impact of industrial site faults on the module and the entire control system.

Easy to install and maintain

It adopts a modular design, allowing for installation without the need for complex tools.

The disassembly and replacement of subsequent modules do not require the entire system to be shut down, enabling rapid component replacement, reducing production interruption time and lowering maintenance costs.

Typical application scenarios

This module is widely used in industries such as petrochemicals, power, and metallurgy due to its compatibility with I/A series distributed control systems and its excellent stability and compatibility.

For instance, in the petrochemical industry, thermal resistance sensors can be connected to the reaction vessels to collect real-time reaction temperature data and transmit it to the central control system,

assisting the system in precisely regulating the reaction conditions. In power plants, it can monitor the temperature parameters of the relevant components of the boiler to ensure the stable operation of the boiler.

In the production of blast furnaces in the metallurgical industry, temperature signals from key parts of the furnace body can be collected, providing data support for the parameter adjustment of the blast furnace smelting process.
