The Yokogawa AAI143-H50 is a high-density Analog Input Module belonging to the FIO (Field network I/O) family,

 designed for use with the CENTUM VP and CENTUM CS 3000 Distributed Control Systems (DCS). 

It is one of the most widely used modules for processing standard process signals.

1. Introduction

The AAI143-H50 is a 16-channel, isolated analog input module that accepts 4 to 20 mA signals. 

The "-H" in the suffix indicates that the module is HART-compatible, allowing it to not only receive the 4-20 mA process variable but also communicate bi-directionally with smart field devices to retrieve diagnostic and calibration data. 

The "50" designates its style or revision, often indicating standard features like basic isolation and performance specs.
