Specifications
Part No.: IS220PPROH1A
Manufacturer: General Electric
Country of Manufacture: United States
Product Type: Backup Turbine Protection (PPRO) I/O pack
Series: Mark VIe
IS220PPROH1A is a Backup Turbine Protection (PPRO) I/O pack developed by GE.
The Backup Turbine Protection (PPRO) I/O pack and associated terminal boards offer an independent backup Overspeed protection system,
as well as a backup check for generator synchronization to a utility bus.
They also serve as an independent watchdog for the primary control.
Three triple modular redundant (TMR) PPRO I/O packs mounted to separate simplex protection (SPRO) terminal board
or three PPROs put on a TMR TPROH#C terminal board constitute a typical protection system.
Each SPRO or TPROH#C is connected to the designated emergency trip board through a cable with DC-37 pin connections on both ends:
TREG stands for Gas Turbine Emergency Trip Terminal Board.
TREL: Terminal Board for Large Steam Turbine Emergency Trips
TRES: Terminal Board for Small/Medium Steam Turbine Emergency Trips
A different configuration places three PPRO I/O packs directly on TREA for a single-board TMR protection system.
For IONet communications with the control modules, the PPRO includes an Ethernet connection.
Features
Analog input capability:capable of managing up to 10 analog inputs,
making it a valuable component for processing various analog signals within industrial systems.
Current loop input: For current loop input, the load terminal resistor is conveniently located on the terminal board.
PHRA can sense the voltage across these resistors, which helps to accurately measure and interpret current loop signals.
The IS220PTURH1A has a black outside shell with air circulation holes.
This case contains various LED indicators on the front, as well as an IR receiver (infrared port.) This bundle does not use this port.
A CPU board, a second board dedicated to turbine control, and an analog acquisition auxiliary board are all housed within this case.
The TTURH1C terminal board is used to mount the pack. Two 10/100 Ethernet ports, flash memory, RAM, a read-only chip for identification,
an internal temperature sensor, and a reset circuit are all on the processor board.
The IS220PTCCH1A offers a maximum software error/conformity error of .25 degrees Fahrenheit.
Common mode voltage is +/- 5 volts with AC common-mode rejection of 100dB @50/60Hz.
Common mode rejection includes filtering for both hardware and software.
The unit also includes normal mode rejection of 250 mV RMS @ 50/60 Hz (+/-5%) and high/low hardware and software limit checks.
The unit is designed for operation in ambient conditions from -22 to +149 degrees Fahrenheit.
The IS220PTCCH1A can perform multiple self-diagnostics including power-up self-tests of flash memory, RAM, processor board hardware,
and Ethernet ports. It also offers continuous monitoring of its internal power supplies to ensure proper functions.
Additional information about the IS220PTCCH1A, including important handling and installation instructions and warnings,
can be found in GE product manuals and guides.Generally, this IS220PTCCH1A device's voltage suppression and limitation strategy
involves its normal Mark V Series assembly's acceptance of various series-standardized limiting hardware component such as various styles of capacitors,
resistors, transistors, diodes, and specialized integrated circuits.
