Installation and Maintenance

Installation

Surface Preparation: The mounting base and the surface under the bearing housing must be flat to within 0.05 mm. Do not use shims directly above or below the load cell.

Orientation: The load cell measures force in one specific vertical direction. Ensure the arrow/marking aligns with the resultant force of the web tension.

Torque: Use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten the four mounting screws according to the manual's specifications (typically high-strength bolts are required).

Alignment: Ensure the measuring roll is dynamically balanced and the load cells at both ends are at the same height.

Maintenance

General Cleaning: Periodically remove debris from the gap between the load cell and the base to ensure the force path remains unobstructed.

Cable Inspection: Check the protective hose for mechanical wear or chemical degradation.

Recalibration: Due to the Pressductor technology, mechanical wear is non-existent;

 however, electronic zero-point checks are recommended during annual shutdowns via the PFEA Tension Electronics unit.
