### Functions - **Soft Start Function**: The A-B SMC-3 Low Voltage Soft Starter gradually increases the motor's input voltage during startup, smoothly accelerating the motor to its operating speed and reducing the inrush current, which helps prevent damage to the motor and other connected equipment due to high starting currents. - **Soft Stop Function**: When stopping the motor, it gradually decreases the voltage, allowing the motor to decelerate gently and smoothly come to a stop. This helps avoid sudden stops that could cause mechanical stress and wear on the motor and driven machinery. - **Overload Protection**: Built-in electronic motor overload protection continuously monitors the motor current. If it detects an overload condition, the soft starter will trip and disconnect the motor from the power supply to prevent overheating and potential damage to the motor. - **Bypass Function**: The integral bypass feature includes a built-in silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) bypass/run contactor. Once the motor reaches its nominal speed, the bypass contactor closes, allowing the current to flow directly through it, reducing heat generation in the soft starter and improving overall energy efficiency. ### Features - **Wide Current Range**: Available with a current range from 3 to 480 amps, making it suitable for a variety of low-voltage motor applications with different power requirements. - **Multiple Start and Stop Modes**: Offers five start and stop modes, such as soft start with inrush start, current-limiting start, etc., providing flexibility to match the specific starting requirements of different loads and applications. - **Compact Design**: Features a compact size and true three-phase control in a cost-effective package, allowing for easy installation in control panels or other limited spaces without sacrificing performance. - **Easy Setup**: Allows for easy and secure setup using dip switches, enabling quick configuration and customization of the soft starter's parameters according to the specific needs of the application. - **Modular Design**: Comes with a modular design that includes removable control modules and power modules. This design not only simplifies installation and maintenance but also allows for easy upgrades or replacements if needed. - **Diagnostics and Monitoring**: Provides motor and system diagnostics, with built-in LCDs and keypads for easy configuration and drive performance monitoring. The LED displays show the status information of the soft starter, including run, fault, and off states, facilitating quick troubleshooting and maintenance.
