Installation and Maintenance

Installation

CT Short-Circuiting: Critical! Never disconnect the current transformer wiring from the module while the primary circuit is energized. Always short-circuit the CT secondary terminals first to avoid lethal high voltages.

Grounding: Ensure the M8 grounding screw on the module or the subrack is connected to the station ground to maintain the integrity of the isolation barrier.

Terminal Tightness: Check that all screw terminals are torqued correctly; loose connections on CT circuits can lead to arcing and module failure.

Maintenance

Phase Accuracy Check: During scheduled outages, perform a secondary injection test to ensure the 500TRM02 is converting values within its ±0.5% accuracy range.

Visual Inspection: Check for signs of localized overheating (discoloration) near the input terminals, which may indicate a high-burden or poor connection.
