The Yokogawa ATK4A-00 S1 is a specialized KS Cable Interface Adapter (also known as a Terminal Block Adapter) 

designed for the CENTUM VP and CENTUM CS 3000 Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

 It serves as the physical bridge between field I/O modules and the terminal boards via standard KS cables.

1. Introduction

The ATK4A-00 S1 is an accessory module that mounts directly onto the front of Yokogawa FIO (Field network I/O) modules. 

Its primary purpose is to convert the high-density connector of the I/O module into a 40-pin MIL connector interface.

 This allows for a "plug-and-play" connection using a KS1 or KS2 cable, leading to a remote terminal board (like the AEA4D or A1BA4D), which simplifies cabinet wiring and maintenance.
